We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Full-Time Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in North Derbyshire. This role involves working closely with pupils in Key Stage 2, with a particular focus on providing 1:1 support to a Year 5 child with autism.
Key Responsibilities:
– Support the learning and development of pupils in Key Stage 2.
– Provide 1:1 support to a Year 5 child with autism, helping them to engage with the curriculum and build positive relationships.
– Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and managing the classroom environment.
– Implement personalised learning strategies and contribute to the child’s individual education plan.
– Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning atmosphere.
Requirements:
– Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally with Key Stage 2 pupils.
– Understanding and experience of supporting children with autism or similar needs.
– Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with pupils, staff, and parents.
– Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
– Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable but not essential.
