About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special needs school starting in January 2025. This full-time position is offered through Career Teachers Agency on a long-term basis, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent contract with the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to students with special educational needs, including autism, throughout the school day.
  • Assist in ensuring that students have access to learning and are fully supported in all aspects of their education.
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching materials to meet the needs of students.
  • Support students in developing social skills, independence, and self-confidence.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly autism.
  • A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach to working with students.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt to the individual needs of each student.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education is desirable.
