The Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team on an agency basis.

You will work under the direct guidance of teaching and senior staff, supporting pupils within the classroom and other learning environments.

Your role will include:

  • Supporting pupils with severe and complex learning needs in their day-to-day learning
  • Assisting the class teacher with the delivery of tailored learning activities
  • Helping to manage behaviour positively and support emotional regulation
  • Supporting pupils with communication, sensory, and personal care needs where required
  • Promoting independence and engagement in a safe and structured environment
  • Providing general classroom support, including preparation of resources

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children with SEN (particularly autism and complex needs) – desirable
  • Is patient, empathetic, and resilient
  • Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Works well as part of a team and follows guidance effectively
  • Communicates clearly and builds positive relationships with pupils and staff
