**Job Description:**
Wetherby Special Educational Needs School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with children with autism and other special educational needs, supporting their learning and development in a safe and nurturing environment.
**Responsibilities:**
– Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored educational activities and lessons.
– Provide one-on-one support to students with autism, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
– Support the social and emotional development of students.
– Help with classroom management and organization.
– Monitor and report on the progress of students.
– Collaborate with the educational team, including SENCOs, therapists, and parents, to create and implement individual education plans (IEPs).
**Requirements:**
– Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly autism.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children with additional needs.
– A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
