About the Role

  • Position: Special Needs Teaching Assistant
  • Location: Leeds
  • Contract: Full-time, entire academic year (with potential for permanent placement)

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you’ll support learners of all ages with special educational needs, including autism. You’ll work closely with teachers and other professionals to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, helping students achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs
  • Assist in creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Foster a positive and engaging learning atmosphere
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals
  • Support students in developing social and communication skills

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN (preferred but not essential)
  • A compassionate and patient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to support learners of varying ages and abilities
