Career Teachers are working with a lovely Infant School based in Castleford, who require a Year 1 Teacher to start in February 2025. The assignment will run until the end of the Academic year in July and is to cover Maternity Leave. The role is offered on a part-time basis for 3 days per week.

This school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join their enthusiastic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to our Year 1 students, creating a positive and engaging learning environment, and supporting the individual needs of each child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to promote a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support student learning and well-being.
  • Participate in school events, extra-curricular activities, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant teaching qualifications.
  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, preferably Year 1.
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and effective teaching practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and collaboration.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Proficiency in using educational technology to enhance learning.
  • Creative and innovative teaching approaches.
