If you want to be part of one of the most enterprising, savvy and hard-working cities in the country, you have to go to Leeds.
During the industrial revolution Leeds became a major mill town. Wool was its dominant industry, but since then it has accrued the most diverse economy in the UK and has seen the fastest growth rate of private sector jobs of any UK city. Not only that, but it’s the largest legal and financial centre in the UK after London with around 150 law firms.
Leeds takes education as seriously as it takes business. Under the government Building Schools for the Future initiative, Leeds secured £260 million to transform 13 secondary schools. Not only that, but with four universities Leeds has the fourth largest student population in the country.
