A caring and inclusive primary school in Leeds is looking for a patient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.
This is a full-time, long-term role supporting pupils with additional needs such as Autism (ASC), ADHD, and social, emotional & mental health (SEMH) challenges. The school has a supportive leadership team and is committed to providing training and guidance for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 support to a pupil with specific learning and behavioural needs
- Supporting small groups of children within the classroom
- Assisting with the implementation of EHCP targets and strategies
- Helping to create a safe, nurturing and positive learning environment
- Working closely with the SENCO, class teacher, and parents to monitor progress
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school, nursery, or care environment
- A calm, patient and resilient approach to supporting children with additional needs
- The ability to adapt and be flexible depending on pupil requirements
- Good communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships
- A genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential
