About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Social Sciences Teacher with a strong specialism in Health and Social Care to join a vibrant secondary school in East London. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons across KS4 and KS5, preparing students for GCSE, BTEC, and A-Level qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Health & Social Care and related Social Sciences subjects
  • Prepare students for BTEC and A-Level assessments
  • Differentiate teaching to meet diverse learner needs
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong subject knowledge in Health & Social Care and Social Sciences
  • Experience teaching KS4 and KS5 (GCSE/BTEC/A-Level)
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare

Desirable

  • Experience with vocational qualifications and awarding bodies (Pearson, OCR)
  • Ability to teach Sociology or Psychology alongside Health & Social Care
