Location: Tower Hamlets, East London
Daily Rate: £95-110 per day
Immediate Start | Full‑time | Long‑term

We are seeking a dedicated Epilepsy‑trained SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in Tower Hamlets. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, many of whom also require medical and pastoral support to safely access learning.

The Role

• Provide tailored support for students with SEMH needs
• Offer 1:1 and small‑group interventions
• Monitor and respond to epilepsy‑related needs, ensuring student safety
• Support emotional regulation, behaviour management and de-escalation
• Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff and clinical teams
• Help create a calm, consistent and nurturing environment

Requirements

• Experience supporting SEMH students (secondary or specialist setting)
• Essential: Epilepsy training/experience (e.g., seizure management, triggers, safety protocols)
• Strong communication and resilience
• Understanding of safeguarding and behaviour support strategies
• Ability to build trust and positive relationships

Desirable

• Training in de‑escalation or Team Teach
• Knowledge of trauma‑informed practice
• Experience in specialist or alternative provisions
