Career Teachers are looking to appoint an experienced Design Technology Technician for a North Birmingham based secondary school on a full-time temporary basis (term time only) starting immediately.

As a Design technician, you will be required to be part of a small team of technicians offering support to teaching staff within the Design & Technology department, responsible for preparing equipment and material for lessons as requested by the teaching staff in a safe working environment compliant with current Health & Safety legislation. You will also be required on occasion to carry out the role of Classroom Assistant, assisting the teacher and students in the delivery of lessons.

To be successful for this role, you must:

  • Have a minimum of 6 months experience working within a school setting as a DT Technician
  • Eligibility to work within the UK
  • Hold an enhanced DBS check on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one
  • Have up-to-date safeguarding training; Career Teachers offer a FREE online Safeguarding training course
  • Able to provide a minimum of 2 x references to cover the last 2 years of employment history
  • Recent experience as a food technology Technician.
  • A creative individual who possesses excellent organisational skills
  • Pro-active in providing support for teaching and learning in the classroom and under the supervision of teaching staff
