Location: East London
Pay: £100-£110 per day
Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, long-term (Monday-Friday, term-time only)

We are currently recruiting Behaviour Mentors to work across secondary schools in East London, including mainstream settings with Alternative Resource Provisions.

This role is ideal for confident, resilient individuals who are passionate about supporting young people to overcome behavioural and academic barriers and re‑engage with education.

Key Responsibilities – Behaviour Mentor

  • Provide targeted behaviour support to students with additional needs
  • Support pupils in and out of the classroom to remain engaged with learning
  • Assist teachers with lesson delivery and academic interventions
  • Build positive, consistent, and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and de‑escalation techniques
  • Support students with SEMH needs and those at risk of exclusion

Requirements – Behaviour Mentor

  • Previous experience working with young people in a school, PRU, youth work, or similar setting
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • A proactive, patient, and consistent approach
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • A genuine interest in supporting students with behavioural and academic challenges

Desirable

  • Experience working within a PRU or alternative provision
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and behaviour policies
  • Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. Team Teach, Youth Work, Education‑related)
