A primary school in South Leeds is seeking a resilient and supportive Behaviour Support Assistant to work with a KS2 pupil with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
This is a full-time, long-term role starting ASAP, and would suit someone experienced in supporting children with additional needs or someone with a background in youth work, care, or behaviour support.
Responsibilities:
- Providing 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil with behavioural challenges
- Helping the pupil regulate emotions and remain engaged in lessons
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external agencies
- Implementing behaviour plans and strategies
- Encouraging positive social skills and self-confidence
Candidate requirements:
- Experience supporting children with SEMH/behavioural needs
- Patient, calm and consistent approach
- Confident in using de-escalation strategies
Previous experience is needed in this role.
