HR Officer (Maternity Cover)

Salary: LBR7 (Scale Point 23-25) £38,256 – £39,276 (dependent on experience)

About the Role

At Career Teachers, we are supporting a Multi Academy Trust who are seeking to appoint a proactive and highly organised HR Officer to join their central HR team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional looking to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic and growing multi-academy trust.

You will play a key role in delivering a high-quality, efficient and compliant HR service, supporting schools across the Trust and contributing to the full employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage HR processes across the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, absence management and leavers
  • Ensure compliance with safer recruitment and safeguarding requirements, including maintaining the Single Central Record
  • Provide advice and support to managers on HR policies, procedures and employment matters
  • Maintain accurate HR records and systems, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality
  • Support payroll processes and HR reporting, including workforce census requirements
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR systems and processes
  • Act as a key point of contact for HR queries across the Trust

About You

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Holds CIPD membership (or equivalent HR experience)
  • Has a strong understanding of HR best practice and employment law
  • Has experience working in a busy HR team, ideally within a changing or growing organisation
  • Demonstrates excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Is confident using HR systems and Excel to manage and analyse data
  • Builds strong relationships and communicates effectively with a range of stakeholders
  • Works well under pressure and can manage competing priorities
  • Understands the importance of confidentiality, safeguarding and equality
  • (Desirable) Has experience working in an education or school environment
