About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our supportive educational team in Chesterfield. This rewarding role involves working closely with students who require additional support to help them achieve their full potential, both academically and personally.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide tailored assistance to learners with a range of needs, including Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students on a one-to-one basis or within small groups.
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging learning activities.
- Help students develop confidence, independence, and social skills.
- Provide support for students with SEND, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and learning disabilities.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Encourage positive behaviour and promote a safe learning environment.
- Support students during lessons, breaks, and educational activities as required.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience working with children or young people in an educational, care, or support setting.
- Demonstrate patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
- Be committed to supporting the individual needs of learners.
- Have a positive and proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
