📘 About the Role

Career Teachers are recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to undertake a maternity cover position within a secondary school from September 2026 until December 2026.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging Mathematics lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, maintaining high expectations for learning and behaviour, and ensuring students continue to make strong academic progress throughout the cover period.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering high-quality Maths lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.
• Planning and adapting lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
• Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.
• Maintaining strong classroom and behaviour management.
• Supporting students to develop confidence and competence in Mathematics.
• Working collaboratively with the wider Maths department to ensure continuity and consistency throughout the maternity cover.

✔️ Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Previous experience teaching Mathematics within a secondary school setting.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Reliable, organised, and professional approach to teaching.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
• Driving is advantageous but not essential.
