Are you passionate about supporting young people and making a real difference in their lives? Career Teachers are seeking a dedicated Pastoral Assistant to join a vibrant secondary school in Hackney.
Provide day-to-day pastoral support to students across all year groups.
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support their emotional wellbeing and personal development.
Work closely with Heads of Year, SENCO, and safeguarding leads to identify and support vulnerable students.
Monitor attendance, punctuality, and behaviour, intervening where necessary to improve outcomes.
Support students at risk of exclusion, involvement in gangs, or substance misuse, offering guidance and mentoring.
Assist with the delivery of behaviour interventions and restorative practices.
Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure coordinated support.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding procedures.
Experience working with young people in an educational, youth work, or mentoring capacity.
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm, empathetic, and solution-focused in challenging situations.
A proactive team player with a genuine commitment to student welfare.
Enhanced DBS on the update service
Relevant qualifications in youth work, counselling, or education support.
