Career Teachers is working with a secondary school in Greenwich who are looking to recruit a Pastoral Assistant. The role will involve supporting students’ emotional, social, and behavioural needs across all key stages. The ideal candidate will be available to start ASAP or in January 2026. The role is full-time and will run long-term.
Provide pastoral support to students, ensuring their emotional, social, and academic needs are met
Monitor attendance, punctuality, and behaviour, working closely with staff, parents, and external agencies
Offer guidance and mentoring to students, helping them overcome barriers to learning
Contribute to safeguarding procedures and promote a safe, inclusive school environment
Support the wider school community through initiatives that encourage positive behaviour and wellbeing
Experience working with young people in an educational or pastoral setting
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport
Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and school policies
Empathetic, proactive, and solution-focused approach to supporting students
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external partners
