PMLD Teacher – Secondary SEN School

Location: Bow, East London
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term/Permanent Opportunity
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated PMLD Teacher to join a welcoming and well-resourced secondary SEN school in Bow from September.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher who has a proven background working with students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a highly personalised curriculum that supports students’ academic, sensory, communication, social and life skills development.

The Role

  • Teaching a class of secondary-aged students with PMLD and complex learning needs.
  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCP targets.
  • Working closely with a multidisciplinary team including therapists, support staff and families.
  • Supporting students with sensory learning, communication development and life skills.
  • Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.
  • Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate records in line with school requirements.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience teaching students with PMLD is essential.
  • Strong understanding of complex needs, sensory learning and alternative communication methods.
  • Experience working within a SEN or specialist school setting.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A compassionate, patient and resilient approach.
