SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary Schools | East London

Location: East London
Pay: £93-£110 per day
Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, long-term (Monday-Friday, term-time only)

Are you a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role within a secondary school setting?

We are currently seeking committed SEN TAs to support pupils with additional needs across supportive and inclusive secondary schools in East London.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about helping young people with diverse learning needs to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and PMLD
  • Support teaching staff with the delivery of personalised learning activities
  • Assist pupils with their emotional regulation, social development, and behaviour
  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
  • Use positive behaviour management and de‑escalation strategies effectively

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role within a UK secondary school
  • Good understanding of special educational needs and appropriate support strategies
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
  • Relevant qualifications or SEN training (desirable but not essential)
