SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Personal Care & Mobility Support)
Location: East London
Start Date: ASAP or September 2026
Daily Rate: £93-110 via PAYE
We are looking for a compassionate and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to support a secondary-aged student with complex physical and learning needs. This is a rewarding role for someone who is confident providing personal care and mobility assistance throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing personal care, including changing and toileting
* Safely using a hoist to support transfers
* Assisting the student with mobility around the school, including pushing a wheelchair
* Supporting learning within the classroom and adapting activities where needed
* Working closely with the SEN team and following the student’s care plan
* Ensuring the student is safe, comfortable, and fully included in school life
Requirements:
* Experience supporting students with physical or medical needs (desired)
* Confidence in delivering personal care in a dignified and respectful way
* Training or experience using a hoist (essential)
* Ability to assist with wheelchair use around the school
* A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
