SEND Teaching Assistant – Care Background – East London – ASAP Start

Are you experienced in care, confident with personal care, and trained in manual handling?
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs?

We are urgently recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants to work in Special Educational Needs schools across East London, with immediate start dates available.

About the Role

You will be supporting students with a range of needs, which may include:

  • Autism (ASC)
  • Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD)
  • Physical disabilities requiring mobility support
  • Complex medical or personal care needs

Your experience in the care sector-particularly with personal care, moving & handling, and supporting vulnerable individuals-will be highly valued in this role.

What We’re Looking For

✅ Background in care, residential support, health & social care, or similar
✅ Experience delivering personal care
✅ Confident with manual handling (training welcomed)
✅ A calm, patient, and supportive approach
✅ Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
✅ Commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable learners
