About the Role:

Career Teachers is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join a special school in Leeds. These full-time, long-term positions start immediately and offer the potential to transition to a permanent contract with the school. You will be supporting students with special educational needs, including autism, throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs, ensuring their educational and developmental needs are met.
  • Assist in the delivery of tailored educational programs and activities.
  • Support the class teacher in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Help students with their daily routines and promote their social and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children or individuals with special educational needs, particularly autism.
  • Understanding of autism and effective strategies to support students with this condition.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education or a related field are advantageous.
