An ideal Teaching Assistant will have excellent teamwork and communication skills, a genuine interest in working with young people, flexible thinking, a willingness to learn and above all be caring, patient and resilient.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work on a one-to-one and group basis to identify and support student’s needs
  • Support students with their mental health, well-being and inclusion
  • Support students in their academic achievement
  • Work alongside class teachers and also within the Learning Support Hub
  • Providing support inside and outside of the classroom
  • Uphold policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to the appropriate person.
  • Assist with the supervision of pupils, including before and after school and at lunchtime/break periods
