Career Teachers have an exciting opportunity starting this September for a full time teaching assistant!

We are seeking an experienced teaching assistant to support a small group of children in Year 1 with Special Educational Needs. This position is to commence on the 8th August and will be a full time role until the end of the academic year.

Pay Rates:

£90 – £115 per day, including holiday pay!

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEND, assisting with their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and tailored learning strategies.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.
  • Assist with classroom activities, including preparation of materials and resources.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents/guardians.

You will need to:

  • Have previous experience of working in KS1
  • Share an understanding of the importance of a child-centred approach to learning.
  • Hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3, BTEC Level 2 or 3 or equivalent in Teaching Assistant or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Develop and promote positive relationships with children, adults, and other practitioners
  • Plan deliver and evaluate teaching and learning activities under the direction of a teacher
  • Support Literacy and Numeracy development
  • Observe and promote pupil performance and development
