Full-time Teaching Assistant – 1:1 SEND Support (South Derbyshire)

Are you a compassionate and experienced teaching assistant with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? We have a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated individual to join a welcoming Primary School in South Derbyshire on a full-time, long-term basis.

The Role:

You will be working 1:1 with a child in Year 4 who has Down’s Syndrome, providing tailored support to help them thrive both academically and socially. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey.

Experience:

• Proven experience supporting children with special educational needs
• Experience working with children with Down’s Syndrome is desirable but not essential
• A nurturing, patient, and adaptable approach to learning support
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and parents
• A commitment to inclusion and promoting Independence in learning

Requirements:

• Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through us
• Availability to work full time from 13th October and commit to an ongoing role
